It's Almost Over

For his last week of his mission, Austin was reassigned to the Mission Office to await our return.  He was assigned to Elder Jacob Martin, from Layton, Utah, and who has been on his mission for about 10 months.  He worked part of the day in the office and then spent the last part of the day proselyting, although I think he was too trunky to proselyte.  He did manage to get out and take a few pictures.

Austin and his final companion of 1 week, Elder Jacob Martin from Layton, Utah.

Austin having his final meal with all the missionaries scheduled to depart Panama in August.

Everyone except Austin, went home in early August.  Austin stayed back a couple of weeks to allow us to pick him up and take us on a tour of his mission.  He got to take more pictures in the week he was at the mission home, than probably his entire mission.

Austin worked at the mission office for most of the day and then proselyted his area the other half of the day.

Because of schedule conflicts, Austin could not meet us at the airport so waited for us at the Marriott Hotel in Panama City.  He managed to convince the hotel staff to let him check in ahead of us and just couldn't wait to get to his room.  Sort of like Kevin on "Home Alone2".

Finally, a real bedroom, with a real bed, and a TV, and a Pool, and ....

We caught a cab from the airport and finally linked up with Austin at the Hotel around 8:30pm.  It was a very bittersweet reunion after 24 months.

A last picture with the Elders who work at the Mission Office.
